This is a list of self-control exercises Luna created with the help of AI. Luna created this because she was feeling directionless with regard to improving self-control. Then Luna spent 20 minutes formatting it nicely in case anyone else was interested in such a list too.
You can do whatever you want! But here’s what I would suggest:
First, read through the entire guide to get the lay of the land. Don’t bookmark it to read it later. You won’t!
Then, immediately pick ONE exercise to work on today. Then, do whatever you need to do to stay mindful of that exercise so you can actually practice it. Fun note: it doesn’t matter if it’s already getting late, you can still practice just one teeny exercise for the rest of the day! 😉
How to remember to practice the exercise? Here are some ideas:
Tomorrow, you can try the same exercise again if it worked out well, if you didn’t enjoy it, or if you didn’t really do a great job practicing it. Or you can try a different one! It’s up to you! There’s no wrong way to do self-improvement as long as you’re making an honest effort. It’s a very personal thing and everyone has to find their own system that works for them.
There is also no race to be found here. Slow and steady wins the race! Consistent improvement with even a single exercise from this list is a great achievement, and you should feel proud of yourself! Give yourself a cookie! Unless you’re avoiding cookies, then you get a handful of almonds!
